I love concerts, but moreover I love taking pictures in concerts. The music, the lights, the energy shared between the artists and the crowds inspires me. And I particularly love live acoustic gigs because of their magic and subtlety (and also simply because they sound familiar as I basically have a daily acoustic gig at home thanks to the in-house personal musician that happens to be my husband).
Sofar Sounds is a global music movement that was created in 2010 under the concept of bringing together people who love live music and connecting them with new bands in cities all across the world. Through their network of volunteers they host secret gigs in living rooms and small venues, recording videos of the invited bands' songs and the event in general. Different bands and different crowds are invited each time to join an evening of pure magic and absolute musical enjoyment.
I collaborated with Sofar Sounds in Guatemala, as host and photographer; and last week I was invited to be the Sofar Sounds photographer in a small concert they hosted in a rooftop in the center of Madrid. It was one of those perfect, warm sunny days that created the perfect setting for an evening amazing musicians and music lovers united by sound.
